We are excited to welcome the newest professing members of First Church!  The Confirmation class  lead worship at Downtown Alive on November 12.  Six youth took vows of membership and made professions of faith!

Confirmation is a journey of faith to learn more about God and the church in order to become an adult member of the church.  However, we believe that Confirmation is much more than just joining the church.

Students met this fall to examine their relationship with God in a variety of ways. There time was spent exploring scripture and church history, as well as the story and beliefs of United Methodism, and learning what being part of God’s Kingdom can mean and how being part of a community of faith can impact our world. Along with class meetings, each teen was assigned a mentor—an adult in the church who exemplifies their faith in impactful ways.

Congratulations Confirmands!
