Our November sermon series is entitled, “Thankful 24/7.” In his first letter to the Thessalonians, Paul writes, “Give thanks in every situation because this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (1Thess. 5: 18) In another letter Paul writes: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”(Phil. 4: 6) The Psalms are filled with prayers and songs of gratitude. God is good and giving thanks is a life-long journey of grace and gratitude. Paul learned to be content in all things and to pray continually, always with thanksgiving. In a month where we will be inundated with commercials to buy happiness for the holidays, Thanksgiving can offer a respite. Thanksgiving is an invitation to gather round a table and to be grateful. So join us for the next few weeks as we focus on being, “Thankful, 24/7”.
